As Martin Heidegger points out, every living being is mortal, but only human beings are aware of this. This is why we must distinguish death, which refers to the precise moment of ceasing to live or perishing, from dying, which accompanies every instant of human life as it pertains to its specific way of being and existing. This contribution fits within this framework, aiming to review the attitudes and practices with which the subject relates to death and dying, and then illustrate models of good care.
