Reviewing decision-making in the specific interdisciplinary team involved in the care of patients with life-threatening illness is important to achieve the integration of palliative care at all levels of care and throughout the advanced disease trajectory, underlining the importance of caring for the vulnerability of the patient and their environment. Decision- making is considered important to establish a trusting and closer relationship with the patient. Decisionmaking is considered essential in medical practice and a determinant of the doctor’s character in his or her willingness to care for the patient in a holistic way.
