EÌ€ opportuno premettere che l'obiettivo fondamentale del rianimatore non eÌ€ quello di accertare la morte cerebrale ma di prevenirla. A tal fine in tutti i pazienti che presentano una grave lesione del Sistema Nervoso Centrale, e quindi un rischio eleÌvato di morte cerebrale, debbono essere adottate misure di terapia farmacologica e strumentale rivolte a ripristinare una normale funzione cerebrale.
