The relationship between the researcher and the healthy volunteer in biomedical research shows different features than between the physician and the patient. The ethical profile of the participation of these subjects in experiments reveals the description of an experience in delicate equilibrium between personal willingness and material disposition of the body. Two symmetrical problems connected with this practice are then faced: whether there is a moral obligation to participate and whether there are subjective or objective limits to willingness.
