The article illustrates a bill approved by the ltalian Cabinet in Aprii 1993, from a mainly legai point of view ,together with its ethical implications. The bill regards the institution of a guardian administrator for people who are unable to take care of their own interests. This legislative measure is extremely important, particulary far the mentally handicapped, and the article illustrates the legal foundations far their protection which is their right. The paper also looks into the laws in force on this matter in other countries.
