Abstract

Over the years the reproductive technologies have increased and therefore also the indications. These procedures can be used when the physiological mechanisms are lacking or altered, by either integrating or completely substituting them. Many reproductive technologies are only slightly different from each other, while others have very different indications and results. In many cases it's possible to use more than one technique but it is best to use the one that has the greatest possibility of success first an d for the longest period. These methods should only be used after investigating ali the other possible therapies for sterility. Many of these techniques are discussed and criticized from a medical, legal and ethical point of view. Many countries, including Italy, do not yet have laws on the subject.
