The analysis of the atrocities committed during the Twentieth Century directly involves health care professions, if their active role is considered within these events. The possibility that ordinary people can commit atrocities has been subject of analysis, even in the experimental context, as in the Milgram's study and the Zimbardo's one. The analysis of different variables related to the person ("docility" and "rationality limited") and the mechanisms that work when a person operates within a complex organization, impose a surveillance. The risk is the possibility that health care organizations do not get health care aims, also with reference to economic dynamics and to pressure resulting from technological innovation.
